Alliance for Drug Abuse Prevention Coalition (ADAP)

ADAP is a grant funded coalition with a focus on building collaborative partnerships within the community of La Joya and Penitas utilizing environmental strategies focused on underage drinking prevention and prevention of prescription drug misuse.

Services Provided:

ADAP seeks to promote emotional health, prevent the onset, and reduce the profession of substance abuse by conducting awareness and knowledge activities for youth, young adults and families regarding alcohol and prescription drug use and misuse. Activities may include school and community presentations, collaborative health fairs and media campaigns focused on prevention priorities of underage drinking and prescription drug misuse.

Target Population:

The primary population for underage drinking is youth ages 12-17 and young adults ages 18-20.

The primary population for prescription drug misuse and abuse for youth ages 12-17 and young adults ages 18-25.

Program Service Area:

ADAP services the communities of La Joya and Penitas in Hidalgo County.

Hours of Operation:

Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 6:00pm

Friday, 8:00am – 12:00pm
