RURAL BORDER INTERVENTION (RBI)

RBI program addresses specific needs of the rural border communities specifically targeting “Colonias” to provide access to a continuum of behavioral health services including substance abuse prevention, intervention, mental health promotion and treatment to members of the rural border community who have, or are at high risk of developing, substance use disorders.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Implement evidence-based curriculum focused on developing and enhancing life skills; provide alternative activities for participants and family members to encourage communication, support, and other positive interactive skills; motivational interviewing techniques to assist participants needing support, resources and services; referral, follow-up, and information dissemination; and engage in outreach strategies that promote participant recruitment.
